The PHI FINDER - an APP Prototype
A single number, 1.618 or Phi is a concept in its simplest form that refers to the Golden Ratio - a division of a line segment into a unique ratio that gives us satisfying proportions. Great art holds our attention.
Lets see if this app can show us why?
THE SENTIENT SOUL
How we engage in our new data driven world makes us increasingly anxious. How will our massive amounts of data define who we are and then destroy who we believe is our true selves? What makes us unique and human? Is it what follows us around everyday with what we buy, where we bank, how much exercise have we done, etc.?
This project is not a critique about our increasingly data driven world -- but a way of thinking conceptually about a perhaps ‘gentle refusal’, a turning away from what exists, a longing, wishful thinking, a desire’ of what could be. Perhaps even a way of thinking about the weaknesses of our existing normality. Perhaps a dream world?
CHASING VERBS
Searching the MET collection through
the Eyes of an Artist.
Richard Serra, the conceptual sculptor, famously said “Drawing is a verb”, and created his famous work on paper called 'Verblist' (1967), in which he compiled a series of verbs called "actions to relate to oneself, material, place, and process."
Can a search using a verb uncover the processes artists 'DO' to make art?

SWAMP WALK
Stepping into the Great Swamp
Swamps have always been a source of terror and fascination but are actually valuable ecosystems. Swamp Walk uses a storytelling time series to weave together the historical and cultural prejudices and the ecological value of a swamp, along with archival graphics from the jetport battle that took place in The Great Swamp in New Jersey between 1959 to 1970.

SYRIAN MIGRATION FROM 2011-2018
The U.S. involvement began almost with from the start of the Arab Spring uprising in 2011, which resulted into a Syrian civil war. Up to half a million people has died in the war, including around a hundred thousand civilians.By May 2011, millions of people had fled from the war to neighboring countries, with even larger numbers displaced within Syria itself.
A disproportionate amount of children have been affected, with no end in sight.
